Newly-formed NHL ice hockey franchise the Vegas Golden Knights has signed up Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota as its first major sponsor.
The Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers Association has agreed a multi-year deal to serve as the preferred automotive partner of the Golden Knights in the non-luxury category at T-Mobile Arena, the team’s home facility.
Toyota will benefit from in-bowl branding exposure throughout the arena, including two dasherboard signs, one in-ice logo and a Zamboni wrap.
The company will also have display vehicles and a street team at pre-game parties at the Toshiba Plaza outside T-Mobile Arena.
In addition, Toyota will provide resources to support the Golden Knights’ efforts to raise ice hockey’s profile in Las Vegas.
As part of the agreement, Toyota has provided the team with a new 2017 Sienna vehicle to use throughout its youth hockey, education and community-focused initiatives.
The Golden Knights’ vice-president of global partnerships, Michael Mungiello, said: “Our hope is that all of our partners will share our mission of growing the game of hockey in Nevada and Toyota certainly fits that criteria. Golden Knights fans will see Toyota's involvement in a number of impactful community outreach programs and we are excited to work with them on these initiatives."
The Golden Knights will compete in the NHL’s Pacific Division from the 2017-18 season onwards.
