Major League Soccer club FC Dallas has struck a deal with Toyota for the Japanese automotive giant to become the franchise’s new stadium naming rights-holder.
Dallas announced that its venue in Frisco would be named Toyota Stadium, while 17 other fields adjacent to the stadium would be called Toyota Soccer Center. The financial terms and length of the deal were not disclosed.
The 20,500-seat stadium has not had a sponsor since its deal with Pizza Hut expired in January 2012. The venue was called Pizza Hut Park from its opening in 2005.
FC Dallas will cut the ribbon at Toyota Stadium on September 29 when Columbus Crew is the visiting team.
