Japanese automotive manufacturer Toyota has agreed to extend its partnership with the Copa Libertadores for the 2017 edition of the South American club football competition.
This year’s tournament features 47 teams from 10 national federations under the umbrella of the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol).
The 2017 Copa Libertadores began in January and runs through to November. Toyota has sponsored the tournament since 1998.
Atlético Nacional of Colombia clinched the 2016 championship after a 2-1 win against Ecuadorian team Independiente del Valle in a two-legged final.
