UK banking chain Yorkshire Bank has struck a deal to become the first sponsor of the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire cycling event.
The deal will run for three years, from 2015 until 2017.
Under the agreement, Yorkshire Bank will acquire exclusive rights to the sprinter’s jersey.
The three-day race will feature four jerseys, each of which will have its own sponsor. The rider with the most points will be awarded the Yorkshire Bank jersey. Sponsors for the other three jerseys will be unveiled in due course.
The race has been organised after the county successfully staged the Grand Départ opening stage of last year’s Tour de France.
The inaugural edition of the race will take place in Yorkshire from May 1-3.
