Australian rugby league team the New South Wales Blues has agreed a sponsorship deal with Sydney-based brewery Tooheys.
Under the agreement, Tooheys will serve as the team’s shorts sponsor for the next four years.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Australian newspaper the Daily Telegraph said the deal would be worth about A$1m (€671,000/$793,000) a year, bringing the total value of the Blues’ kit to A$4m.
The New South Wales Rugby League body struck the partnership with Lion, Tooheys’ parent company.
Lion first sponsored the Blues across 13 years from 1991.
The Blues compete in the annual State of Origin series against a representative team from Queensland.
The team’s new naming-rights partner and other sponsors will be revealed in November.
