Tissot serves up 2013 World Table Tennis Championships partnership

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has agreed a deal with Tissot that will see the Swiss watchmaker serve as the official timekeeper of the World Table Tennis Championships for the second consecutive edition of the event.

Tissot will now join the likes of Liebherr, China Unicom, DHS, Butterfly and Gerflor as official ITTF partners at this year’s event, which will take place in Paris from May 13-20.

“Our results system which produces live point-by-point results for every match played during the Championships will be powered and displayed by Tissot in addition to timing all our matches,” said ITTF president Adham Sharara. “Millions around the world will be watching this event on TV screens and on the internet, giving table tennis and Tissot excellent exposure worldwide.”

Tissot enjoys partnerships with a number of major sporting events and organisations. It currently holds the official timekeeper role for MotoGP, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), World Superbikes, the Australian Football League (AFL), rugby union’s Six Nations and the world championships of cycling, fencing and ice hockey.
