US retail store chain Hy-Vee has entered into a partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA basketball franchise.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but it was confirmed that Hy-Vee will serve as the official grocery, pharmacy and floral partner of the team.
The deal will also cover the Minnesota Lynx Women’s National Basketball Association franchise and Iowa Wolves, an affiliate team of the Timberwolves that plays in the NBA G League.
Hy-Vee will receive branding exposure on signage at all Timberwolves, Lynx and Wolves regular-season home games.
The company will have digital signage on the exterior of Target Center, the home of the Timberwolves and the Lynx, as well as additional signage elements in-arena throughout the games. The Hy-Vee logo will also feature near mid-court inside Wells Fargo Arena, the home of the Wolves.
Hy-Vee also has partnerships in place with the Minnesota Vikings NFL American football franchise, as well as the Minnesota Wild NHL ice hockey team.
The company was previously a long-term partner of Major League Baseball team the Kansas City Royals, but last year ended its affiliation with the franchise. The Des Moines Register said the Royals had wanted “significantly more” from Hy-Vee, despite the company having sponsored various initiatives over the years.
