UCI WorldTour cycling outfit Team Dimension Data has agreed a three-year kit partnership with Swiss cycling apparel manufacturer ASSOS.
The deal will run from 2019 to 2021. ASSOS will outfit both Team Dimension Data’s WorldTour licensed team and its Continental-level team.
ASSOS will work closely alongside the riders to gather technical feedback on the products. The riders will also collaborate with ASSOS on R&D for product innovation at the most elite level and to promote the #EquipmentNotClothing and #SponsorYourself brand ethos.
Douglas Ryder, Team Dimension Data team principal, said: “To have ASSOS partner with Team Dimension Data is a major coup for our organisation. Our partnership will go beyond just the supply of apparel though; as we will work closely with ASSOS in the research and development of new items while they deeply share our teams’ values through the association we have with the Qhubeka charity, in changing lives through bicycles.”
Roche Maier, créateur, brand and product chief at ASSOS, added: “Our main reason to partner with Team Dimension Data is not primarily the marketing exposure but the opportunity to integrate ASSOS Werksmannschaft [the brand’s product development team] test protocols inside the team and provide us with an ideal platform to stress test new technology and components. With Team Dimension Data we have a WorldTour partner who not only shares an appetite for winning but developing future cycling technology.”
ASSOS will also produce replica Team Dimension Data apparel and products to support Qhubeka.
