Financial services company Warwick has agreed a deal to sponsor South African rugby union team Western Province, through which it will also become a partner of the Stormers Super Rugby franchise.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Warwick will serve as an associate sponsor and wealth partner of the teams. The company’s logo will also feature on the chest of the shirts worn by the Stormers and all Western Province teams during the 2018 season.
Warwick joins the likes of title partner DHL, Land Rover and BrightRock as kit sponsors of the Cape Town-based teams.
Warwick chief executive Ian Kilbride said: “Warwick is delighted to be associated with the pre-eminent global rugby franchise and this now extends Warwick’s sporting links, sponsorship and support to rugby, in addition to our existing support for soccer, bowls, golf, bridge, croquet, hockey, cycling and numerous other sporting and leisure activities, enjoyed by our extensive local and international client base.”
