Real estate company Harcourts has agreed a deal to sponsor New Zealand Super Rugby franchise the Chiefs.
The deal names Harcourts, which is headquartered in Auckland, as a major sponsor of the Chiefs. The length of the agreement was not disclosed.
Harcourts will sponsor the Hamilton-based team through a consortium comprising franchises in south Auckland, Waikato, King Country, Taranaki and Fiji.
The company’s branding will feature on the Chiefs’ shorts as part of the deal, while it will also receive exposure through on-field graphics during home games.
“We have had a lot of involvement with the Chiefs in the past and we felt that the synergies between our two international brands is a perfect fit,” Harcourts Hamilton director and general manager Brian King said. “The partnership will allow us to achieve our goals of maximising brand exposure and continuing to drive our community initiatives and help to highlight the many charities and community organisations we are all involved in.”
The Chiefs’ 2017 season begins with a trip to fellow New Zealand outfit the Highlanders on February 24.
