New Zealand Super Rugby franchise the Hurricanes has extended its sponsorship agreements with foreign exchange broker Fullerton Markets and Korean automotive manufacturer Kia.
The three-year deals will cover the 2017 to 2019 seasons.
Fullerton Markets’ logo will appear on the front of the Hurricanes’ home jerseys, while the defending Super Rugby champion’s away shirts will feature Kia’s branding.
The Fullerton Markets-branded jersey will be worn for the first time during the Brisbane Global Tens tournament from February 11-12. The Kia-branded shirt will debut during the Wellington-based team’s final pre-season match against the Crusaders.
Kia served as the team’s main away shirt sponsor last season. Fullerton Markets signed on as a major partner of the Hurricanes in July last year but its branding did not appear on the team’s shirts. Fullerton Markets replaces beer brand Tui as the Hurricanes’ front-of-shirt sponsor for home matches.
Todd McDonald, general manager of Kia Motors NZ, said: “Being a major sponsor of the team and front and centre on the away jersey allows us to reach out to our customers both here in New Zealand and in key international markets.”
The Hurricanes will stand apart for the second year running in 2017 as the only team in Super Rugby with two different front of jersey sponsors.
