Renewable materials provider Stora Enso has agreed to return as the presenting sponsor of the International Ski Federation’s Nordic World Ski Championships in 2019.
Stora Enso, which was also the presenting sponsor of the 2015 and 2017 events, will benefit from significant exposure at the championships. This will include the Stora Enso name being incorporated into the official event logo and title, while company branding will also feature on all athletes’ bibs.
The firm will also supply a range of its renewable raw materials for use in the manufacture of various installations at the event, which will run from February 19 to March 3 in Seefeld, Austria.
Stora Enso’s sustainable materials will be used for structures such as temporary buildings, waste management systems, start gates throughout the event and backdrops where skiers are interviewed by the media.
Karl-Henrik Sundström, chief executive of Stora Enso, said: “In Seefeld, our renewable materials and expertise will be combined in many special products and solutions. We will lead the way in promoting and supporting a sustainable event, by using renewable raw materials derived from wood and by maximising the recycling and reuse of products.”
Stora Enso brokered the deal with the Infront Sports & Media agency, which is the exclusive media and marketing partner of the FIS for the event.
