Formula One motor racing team Mercedes has agreed a two-year extension to its partnership with Starwood Preferred Guest, the loyalty programme of hotel group Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.
Mercedes and Starwood have worked together since 2012 and Starwood Preferred Guest members will continue to enjoy access to Formula One experiences with the team in destinations around the world.
Starwood is also Mercedes’ preferred hotel partner, with the team staying at its resorts in locations such as Barcelona, Monaco, Singapore and Abu Dhabi.
Starwood will continue on Mercedes’ third tier of sponsors alongside Allianz, EBM-Papst, IWC Schaffhausen, Monster, Pirelli and Puma.
Mark Vondrasek, senior vice-president of distribution, loyalty and partnership marketing for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, said: "From one-of-a kind views of the pit lane to meeting the drivers in incredible destinations, the unique and exclusive experiences we have offered as a result of this partnership have helped drive SPG members' excitement for the popular sport of Formula One."
Mercedes has already secured the 2014 F1 constructors’ championship, the first in its history, and drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg are currently battling it out for the drivers’ title.
