Health insurance company Unilife has agreed a one-year sponsorship deal with Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A football team Sport Club do Recife.
Under the agreement, Unilife’s branding will feature on the sleeves of the team’s playing shirt until mid-2015. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Unilife logo featured on Sport’s kit for the first time during the 1-0 Serie A defeat to Flamengo on Saturday and further details of the partnership are set to be announced in due course.
Sport’s marketing director Sid Vasconcelos said: “Our new relationship with Unilife goes beyond a sponsorship. It is a partnership, above all. It is not just stamping (a brand on) our shirt, (it) goes far beyond.”
Last month, Sport secured government-owned bank Caixa Econômica Federal as its new main sponsor under a four-year deal worth R$6m (€2m/$2.7m).
