Legal firm Graham Thompson Attorneys and food and beverage multinational Nestle have agreed to become sponsors of the International Association of Athletics Federations’ (IAAF) inaugural World Relays event, which takes place in the Bahamas later this month.
The new competition will see national teams from around the world compete in various relay races at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium in the Bahamas. Relay races will include the 4 x 100 metres, 4 x 200 metres, 4 x 400 metres, 4 x 800 metres and 4 x 1500 metres.
Nestle, which will be active in the deal through its Nestle Milo chocolate milk brand, and Graham Thompson Attorneys struck the deal with the competition’s local organising committee.
The two companies now join RBC Royal Bank and RBC Finco, Kalik, Bahamas Waste Limited and the Bahamas Electricity Corporation at the national supplier level of sponsorship. Atlantic Medial and Caribbean Bottling Company through Coca-Cola will serve as national partners.
Lionel Haven, managing director of the local organising committee, said: “The involvement of both companies is a significant step forward for the event, and their support, alongside that of the other sponsors, will help ensure that we see a fantastic event delivered.”
The 2014 IAAF World Relays Bahamas will take place on May 24-25, with the 2015 event also scheduled to take place in the country.
