Swimwear brand Speedo has signed an agreement with Fina, the global governing body of aquatic sports, to become the exclusive swimwear and swim equipment supplier to the Swimming World Cup series.
The partnership is effective from this year’s Swimming World Cup and runs for five years until the 2019 edition.
The 2015 Swimming World Cup begins in Moscow on August 11-12 and will be the first time the event has taken place in long-course 50 metre pools.
Speedo ambassadors Florent Manaudou (pictured) and Missy Franklin are among the confirmed competitors for this season.
As part of the deal with Fina, Speedo will be present at all eight events globally and have a dedicated retail space. Speedo will also have the opportunity to cover and stream the Swimming World Cup on its digital platforms.
Speedo, which actively works with communities around the world to raise awareness of swim safety, will also support Fina’s ‘Swimming for All, Swimming for Life’ programme as the exclusive worldwide swimwear partner.
Julio Maglione, president of Fina, said: “Fina is very pleased with this agreement, as we have a long-standing relationship of success with Speedo. The reputation, quality and high-level of products is well-known by our athletes and officials. The involvement in our 'Swimming for All, Swimming for Life' programme proves that Speedo is active not only with the elite, but also in the area of development.”
