Baku 2015 has signed up the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) as the fifth official partner of the inaugural European Games multi-sport event.
The deal will lead to Baku 2015 branding on every SOCAR forecourt and outlet across Azerbaijan in a bid to raise awareness of the event in the host country. SOCAR will also help to promote the European Games around the continent through a marketing campaign in Switzerland, Georgia, Romania and Ukraine.
SOCAR has a long standing association with major sporting bodies and events, including the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan. The company has also signed on as an official sponsor of the Uefa Euro 2016 national team tournament in France.
Rovnag Abdullayev, president of SOCAR, said: “Sponsorships across sport are a very significant point for us, and SOCAR is honoured to be associated with such an exciting moment in the history of the country. The European Games will help leave a legacy of lasting positive change, and we are extremely happy to be playing a part in that.”
SOCAR joins P&G, Tissot, BP and Nar Mobile as an official partner of Baku 2015.
