The Singapore Swimming Association has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with sports beverage brand 100Plus on the back of home success at last month’s Southeast Asian Games.
The 2015 SEA Games took place in Singapore from June 5-16, with the home nation securing an impressive 42-medal haul in aquatics disciplines. Poster boy for the Games Joseph Schooling (pictured) won gold medals in all nine swimming events he entered while his team mate Quah Zheng Wen won a total of 12 medals, including seven golds.
Under the partnership deal, which is in both cash and in-kind, 100Plus has been named as SSA’s official hydration partner through to 2018. As part of the deal, 100Plus will provide its signature isotonic drinks to volunteers, officials, athletes and guests at upcoming local and world class aquatics events hosted in Singapore by the SSA. These include the Fina World Junior Swimming Championships from August 25-30, as well as Fina World Cup and Fina Diving Grand Prix meets.
In addition to the provision of beverages, 100Plus’ sponsorship includes cash donations which will support various athletes’ training programmes across the four aquatic disciplines.
Lee Kok Choy, president of SSA, said: “Our partnership with 100Plus is in line with SSA’s overarching strategy to obtain corporate sponsorship and funding so that we can fully develop and nurture our talent pool of athletes.”
The 100Plus brand also served as an official partner of the 28th SEA Games.
