Schalke takes off with airline partner

German Bundesliga football club Schalke 04 has agreed a one-year extension to its partnership with domestic airline Condor until June 2015.

Condor, which first began its support of Schalke in 2012, will retain its role as the club’s official airline.

Schalke will also continue to plan its trips abroad with the airline.

The club will compete in the 2014-15 Uefa Champions League after finishing third in the 2013-14 Bundesliga to qualify for the European club football tournament.

The extension marks another deal in what has been a busy close season for Schalke. This week, the club agreed a two-year partnership with the Melia Hotel International Group after signing a four-year extension with stadium naming rights partner C&A Veltins Brewery in May.

Earlier this month, Schalke also penned a one-year renewed sponsorship agreement with garden products retailer Bauhaus and entered into a new two-year tie-up with Huawei to make the Chinese telecommunications company a premium partner.
