The Rugby Football Union, the governing body of English rugby union, has announced that two of its partners – health insurance provider Vitality and sportswear company Canterbury – will sponsor the 2016 World Rugby U20 Championship.
This year’s tournament is being hosted by the RFU and will take place in Manchester, England from June 7-25.
RFU development director Steve Grainger said: “The World Rugby U20 Championship offers us a real opportunity to carry on the growth of the game throughout the country, particularly in the north, so to have two partners of this prestige join us in supporting the event is a massive boost.”
Games are scheduled to take place at the AJ Bell Stadium, home of Premiership outfit Sale Sharks, and at Premier League football team Manchester City’s Academy Stadium.
Canterbury first teamed up with the RFU in 2012 and is the official kit supplier to the England national team. Vitality has been England Rugby’s official wellness partner since February 2015.
England finished as runner-up to New Zealand at last year’s tournament in Italy.
