Automotive company Renault has sealed a sponsorship agreement with Top 14 champion Castres Olympique – the third club to receive its backing in the top division of French rugby union.
The terms of Renault’s deal with Castres were undisclosed, but it has renewed its association with ASM Clermont Auvergne for a further three years while sealing a one-year extension with Union Bordeaux-Begles.
All three clubs will promote the Renault brand throughout the 2013-14 Top 14 season.
Renault’s involvement is not limited to the top flight, with Stade Aurillacois Cantal Auvergne and Tarbes of the Pro D2 Championship enjoying similar tie-ups.
The company’s involvement in French rugby extends to support at regional and amateur level, while France internationals Dimitri Szarzewski and Julien Pierre are Renault brand ambassadors.
