Insurance company Reale Seguros has agreed a deal to sponsor this Saturday’s Copa del Rey final between Spanish LaLiga football teams Sevilla and Barcelona.
Spanish newspaper Expansión reported that Reale Seguros will serve as an institutional sponsor, which is one tier below the tournament's main partner, Spanish automotive manufacturer Seat.
Reale Seguros will benefit from promotion ahead of public-service broadcaster TVE’s coverage of the match, along with a presence in press conferences, behind the goals and on the team benches.
The match will take place at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, home of Atlético Madrid.
Reale Seguros chief executive Ignacio Mariscal said: “It will generate a lot of impact and will bring us great brand awareness among the Spanish people, who will associate the company with the final.”
Mariscal added that the deal could generate a return of more than €1.5m ($1.9m) for Reale Seguros.
Saturday’s match is a repeat of the 2016 Copa del Rey final between Sevilla and Barcelona, which the latter won 2-0 after extra time. Reale Seguros served as one of Sevilla’s shirt sponsors for that match.
Barcelona also won last year’s Copa del Rey with a 3-1 victory over Alavés in the final.
