Rangers recovery backed by 32Red

Online gaming company 32Red has agreed a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with Scottish football team Rangers, effective from the 2014-15 season.

Under the terms of the deal, 32Red will also benefit from extensive visibility at the Glasgow club’s Ibrox stadium and across its digital and media platforms.

The agreement means 32Red replaces Blackthorn Cider as Rangers’ main sponsor. The drinks brand agreed a one-year deal for shirt sponsorship to cover the current campaign in March last year.

An established presence in UK football, 32Red previously held the shirt branding rights for English Premier League club Aston Villa between 2006 and 2008 before sealing a similar deal with Swansea City, although an agreement was reached to end that five-year partnership a year early ahead of the 2013-14 campaign.

Rangers has sealed back-to-back promotions after the club went into liquidation and was re-launched in 2012. It will compete in the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) Championship next season – the second tier of the country’s league structure – where it will be joined by another major club in the form of Hearts. The Edinburgh team has been relegated from the SPFL Premiership this year, also amid financial turmoil.
