Global logistics company DHL has agreed a deal to sponsor the 2017 edition of the Race of Champions (ROC) motorsport event.
Under the agreement, the company’s DHL Express division will serve as the official logistics provider of the event, which will take place at Marlins Park in the US city of Miami, Florida from January 21-22.
DHL Express will support the logistical demands of the event and will ship the competition cars and time-keeping system. Earlier this week, DHL Express delivered the ROC winner’s trophy to Marlins Park.
The ROC brings together some of the world’s top drivers from motorsport’s major disciplines – including Formula One, Nascar, IndyCar, Le Mans, MotoGP, World Rally and the X Games – and pits them against each other in identical machinery.
Four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel claimed his first ROC Champion of Champions title in London last year and will defend his crown in Miami.
Other drivers confirmed for the event include fellow F1 great Felipe Massa, World Rallycross champion Petter Solberg, Nascar champion Kurt Busch and action sports stars Travis Pastrana and Scott Speed.
The 2017 ROC will mark the first edition of the event on US soil.
