Qatar Investment & Projects Development Holding Company (Qipco) has renewed its title sponsorship of the Irish Champion Stakes horse-racing event.
Qipco struck the new three-year deal with Leopardstown Racecourse near Dublin, where the annual race is held.
The agreement covers the 2017 to 2019 editions of the event, which is regarded as one of the leading races in world racing.
Sheikh Fahad Al Thani, chairman of Qatar Racing and director of Qipco, said: “From the outset, we wanted to lend our support to Irish Champions Weekend and, in particular, the Qipco Irish Champion Stakes as the centrepiece of the event. It is excellent news that having attracted fields of such depth and quality it has established itself as one of the best races in the world and so we are delighted to continue our association with the Irish Champion Stakes.”
Qipco first sponsored the Irish Champion Stakes in 2014.
