QBE Insurance has sealed a five-year naming rights deal for rugby and football venue North Harbour Stadium, which is located in Auckland, New Zealand.
Under the agreement with the facility’s operating group, North Harbour Stadium Trust, North Harbour Stadium will be known as QBE Stadium from January 1.
The 25,000 capacity stadium is home to ITM Cup team North Harbour Rugby Union and hosts an annual match featuring Super Rugby franchise Auckland Blues.
In February, it welcomes the NRL rugby league clash between Warriors and Gold Coast Titans. North Harbour was also one of the stadiums used during New Zealand’s staging of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
QBE Stadium has been named as a host venue for the 2015 Fifa Under-20 football World Cup having staged matches at the U-17 Women’s World Cup in 2008.
