Qatar Airways returns to back IPTL

The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) has entered into a new three-year partnership with Qatar’s national carrier Qatar Airways.

Having backed the inaugural 2014 edition of the franchise-based competition, Qatar Airways has agreed to become a presenting partner of the tournament for its 2015 to 2017 editions.

Hugh Dunleavy, chief commercial officer at Qatar Airways, said: “The overwhelming response the league received last season showcases the interest of Asian tennis fans in the region and the success of this format and the partnership with IPTL reinforces our commitment to be associated with large-scale sports events and sports legends.”

Tennis players past and present will contest the five-team IPTL. Current world No.1s Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams are set to return for this year’s event.

The second annual IPTL takes place from December 2-20 and will feature matches in Kobe, Manila, Delhi, Dubai and Singapore, the homes of the five franchises.
