Puma returns to Red Bull Racing in wide-ranging deal

German sportswear giant Puma has returned to Red Bull Racing by signing a new long-term partnership with the leading Formula One motor racing team.

Taking effect from January1, 2016, Puma will become Red Bull’s official licensed partner and official supplier of team and racewear.

In addition to outfitting the F1 team with performance racewear, footwear and teamwear, Puma will exclusively produce and distribute licensed replica, fanwear and lifestyle footwear, apparel and accessories collections for global distribution. Puma branding will feature prominently on the Red Bull car, teamwear and racewear.

Red Bull Racing and Puma enjoyed a successful relationship between 2007 and 2010, during which time the team won its first drivers’ and constructors’ championships in 2010. Puma said Red Bull will be one of its “top tier” assets and will feature alongside its other high profile partners in brand and marketing campaigns in 2016 and beyond.

Bjørn Gulden, chief executive of Puma, said: “Puma and Red Bull have a great brand synergy, and this new partnership with Infiniti Red Bull Racing is another big statement for Puma. There is huge potential within the wider Red Bull organisation to build upon this partnership and explore new territory, and there is an enthusiasm amongst both companies to do so.”
