Financial services company Prudential has extended its title sponsorship of Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Tour event the Hong Kong Open.
Prudential has served as the tournament’s title sponsor since its inception in 2014 and last year signed a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Tennis Association, which organises the event.
The new agreement is in place for this year’s Hong Kong Open, which will take place at Victoria Park Tennis Stadium from October 8-16. Serbia’s Jelena Janković (pictured) is the defending champion.
“(Prudential’s) support has allowed a continuous upgrading of the tournament and local tennis development,” Chris Lai, chief executive of the Hong Kong Tennis Association, said, according to the South China Morning Post newspaper.
