Portuguese Football Federation signs latest Chinese sponsor

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has agreed a sponsorship deal with Chinese energy drinks company Eastroc Super Drink.

The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, names Eastroc as an official partner of the Portuguese national team.

The partnership is set to cover this year’s Fifa World Cup in Russia, where Portugal has been drawn alongside Spain, Iran and Morocco in Group B.

Eastroc becomes the second Chinese company to partner with FPF this month. Last week, the federation agreed a deal with drinks producer Hangzhou Wahaha Group. Wahaha will launch online and offline campaigns to promote the national team as part of the agreement.

Eastroc recently agreed a deal to become an official supplier of the Chinese Super League for the 2018-19 season of the club competition. The company also sponsored the Chinese leg of the International Champions Cup pre-season tournament in 2017.
