Australian A-League football club Perth Glory has announced local government body Healthway as a major sponsor in a two-season deal.
Starting in the 2013-14 campaign, Perth Glory will be ambassadors for the LiveLighter campaign, which Healthway promotes in conjunction with the Heart Foundation as it aims to reduce levels of obesity in Western Australia.
The LiveLighter branding will be displayed on the back of the Perth Glory jersey, stadium signage and marketing and communications material, while it is also set to be promoted through the club’s youth team league.
The deal marks a change in strategy for Perth Glory as it previously had a major sponsorship with fast food chain Chicken Treat.
Chair of Healthway's Board Dr Rosanna Capolingua said: “Perth Glory deserves credit for being prepared to leave junk food promotions behind as the team partners with Healthway to promote the LiveLighter health message which aims to encourage West Australians to live a healthier lifestyle.”
