Wapic Insurance has secured a partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation.
Under the deal, Wapic will be the official insurance services provider and co-sponsor of the national governing body.
The agreement will be worth about N100m (€227,000/$278,000) per year over five years, from 2018 to 2022, according to the NFF’s vice-president of marketing, sponsorship and media rights, Shehu Dikko. The deal includes the option to extend the partnership.
Funds from the deal will be used to support the NFF’s Goal Project, which aims to install football pitches across the country.
The Wapic agreement was unveiled just two days after Coca-Cola signed up as the official soft drink and co-sponsor of Nigeria’s national teams.
Dikko said that further sponsorship agreements will be revealed in the coming weeks.
