American football league the NFL has signed a long-term extension to its kit partnership with US sportswear company Nike.
Under the extended agreement, Nike will continue to provide all 32 NFL clubs with uniforms and sideline apparel for use during all games.
Nike will also continue to supply players who hold endorsement deals with the firm with footwear and gloves as part of the deal.
The NFL did not disclose the length of the new deal but the Profootballtalk website said that an eight-year extension has been signed. The two parties’ previous deal had been due to expire in 2020 and the new agreement will run until 2028.
“Nike has been a long-time and trusted partner of NFL and we're thrilled to extend our relationship with them,” Brian Rolapp, the NFL’s chief media and business officer, said. “The NFL and Nike are a powerful combination and we anticipate working closely with them on several programs, including youth and player initiatives.”
Nike became the NFL’s official kit supplier in 2012, replacing Reebok in the role.
