UAE Pro League football team Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai Club has agreed a deal which will see property developer Emaar become its main sponsor.
The agreement will cover the 2017-18 Pro League season. Emaar’s branding will feature on the front of the team’s shirts as part of the deal.
The club was formed in May following the merging of Al Shabab, Al Ahli and Dubai Club under the instruction of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (pictured), UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Emaar chairman Mohamed Alabbar said: “The private sector has a key role in supporting the sport in the UAE and in empowering the team to compete globally, thereby meeting the aspirations of our leadership and the community.”
He added: “Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai Club brings the combined strength of three clubs. This integration marks the right direction in the growth of football in the UAE, and will enable the team to achieve remarkable success at various regional and international tournaments.”
