New Zealand Breakers net Sky Sport as naming-rights partner

Auckland-based basketball team the New Zealand Breakers has agreed a deal for pay-television broadcaster Sky Sport to become its new naming-rights sponsor.

The deal will run through until 2023 and officially renames the team as the Sky Sport Breakers.

Sky Sport will also benefit from brand exposure on the team’s kit, while it will hold naming rights to the Breakers’ training facility.

Sky Sport will replace entertainment and gaming complex developer SkyCity as the team’s naming-rights sponsor. SkyCity will continue to support the team as one of its main sponsors.

The Breakers are the only New Zealand-based team to compete in Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL).
