The German arm of insurance group Generali has been named as the first title sponsor of the Munich Marathon.
The three-year agreement covers the 2018 to 2020 editions of the race, which will officially be called the Generali Munich Marathon.
Generali Deutschland will also support marathons in Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt, as well as more than 20 other running events across Germany.
Giovanni Liverani, chief executive of Generali Deutschland, said: “Two years ago, we launched our new course of becoming the leading private customer service provider in Germany. In 2016, we introduced a unique product with Generali Vitality, which aims to improve the quality of life of our customers with prevention incentives.
“Therefore, we are completely redefining the classic form of insurance. With our sponsorship strategy, we are now taking a step further by creating events for a health-conscious life.”
