French winery Baron Philippe de Rothschild has enhanced its ties with the Ryder Cup by agreeing a partnership with the 2016 edition of the golf tournament, which takes place at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
The agreement with the PGA of America will see the Mouton Cadet brand become the official wine of next year’s clash between the United States and Europe.
Hugues Lechanoine, managing director of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, said: “Mouton Cadet began its relationship with Ryder Cup Europe in 2014, and is now delighted to expand the relationship for a United States-based Ryder Cup for the first time. With this fantastic expansion into the U.S., this partnership is now firmly implanted on both sides of the Atlantic.”
Mouton Cadet will also reprise its role as the official wine at the Ryder Cup for the 2018 edition at Le Golf National, near Paris in France. The 2016 Ryder Cup will be played from September 27 to October 2.
