Financial services company Morgan Stanley has agreed a partnership with the Players Championship, one of the PGA Tour’s leading golf tournaments.
Morgan Stanley has agreed a four-year deal to become a ‘proud partner’ of the Championship. The agreement will cover each edition of the tournament, which does not have a title sponsor, until 2019. Morgan Stanley joins Optum and PwC as ‘proud partners’ of the event.
“This is great news for the tournament and its future,” Players Championship executive director Matthew Rapp told the Jacksonville Times-Union newspaper. “This means that all enhancements to the course and fan amenities will be done at our planned timetables.”
It was also announced that Morgan Stanley will continue to sponsor breakfast and lunch for Executive Women’s Day at 10 PGA Tour events this year, among them the Players Championship. Executive Women’s Day is a PGA Tour initiative aimed at engaging with women in Tour markets through corporate dialogue and networking opportunities.
This year’s Players Championship will take place at the TPC at Sawgrass club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida from May 12-15. Rickie Fowler (pictured) of the United States is the reigning champion.
