US sausage company Johnsonville has signed a long-term agreement with MLB baseball franchise the Milwaukee Brewers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, the Brewers did confirm that Johnsonville will now stock the concession stands at the team’s Miller Park home.
In addition, Johnsonville will sponsor the gameday race, an initiative that began in the early 1990s and has since been copied by teams across the league.
Johnsonville was previously the official sausage of the Brewers from 1978 until 1988. It will also have naming rights to the Club Level all-inclusive area at Miller Park formerly known as the Dew Deck.
Earlier this week, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the Brewers had ended a deal with long-term sausage partner Klement Sausage Co.
Brewers chief operating officer Rick Schlesinger told the newspaper that any change in partner is a decision that is not taken lightly.
He said: “The racing sausages are an iconic mascot. They have international appeal. Because of that, any relationship that we have with a brand and a company and the racing sausages is something we take very seriously.”
