Melbourne Racing Club has agreed a three-year partnership with bookmaker Ladbrokes ahead of this weekend’s Caulfield Guineas Day horseracing event in the Australian city.
As part of the deal, Ladbrokes will sponsor the event’s 2000-metre Group 1 Caulfield Stakes and 2000-metre Group 3 Caulfield Classic races. As of January 1 2016, Ladbrokes will also become the club’s official corporate bookmaker for until the end of 2018. This new partnership will see Ladbrokes have a strong presence across all Melbourne Racing Club courses replacing William Hill.
The agreement will also result in Melbourne’s Sandown racecourse being re-named Ladbrokes Park. In addition, the bookmaker will be given the naming rights for such races as the 1400-metre Group 1 Orr Stakes and the 1200-metre Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes.
“As a club we’re always looking for ways to progress and offer a wide range of innovative products to our customers, therefore partnering with Ladbrokes is the perfect fit for us,” Melbourne Racing Club chief executive Brodie Arnhold said.
