Russian commercial bank Mastbank has reached an agreement to serve as the title sponsor of the International Aquatics Federation’s (Fina) 2014 Swimming World Cup.
Fina’s premier international short course swimming competition takes in seven meetings in 2014, beginning in Doha on August 27-28 and concluding in Singapore on November 1-2.
Swimmers will compete for around $2m (€1.47m) in prize money, with further rewards for breaking world records as the series also stops in Dubai, Hong Kong, Moscow, Beijing and Tokyo.
A month on from the conclusion of the 2014 World Cup, the sport’s leading competitors will take part in the 12th World Swimming Championships (25m), also to be staged in Doha on December 3-7.
The financial terms of Mastbank’s deal with Fina were not disclosed.
