French Ligue 1 football club Olympique de Marseille has agreed a one-year extension to its shirt sponsorship deal with multinational sporting goods retailer Intersport.
The company will remain the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor for Ligue 1 fixtures during the 2016-17 season. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, Intersport will receive advertising exposure at the club’s Stade Vélodrome home venue and will also be promoted during television coverage of Marseille’s games.
Vincent Labrune, Marseille president, said: “Being able to rely on the unwavering support of such a (recognised) world leader in the distribution of sporting goods is a major advantage in the development of our club.”
The 2016-17 campaign will mark Intersport’s fifth consecutive season as Marseille’s shirt sponsor.
