Manchester City adds energy drink to sponsorship roster

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE football side Manchester City look to be following in the footsteps of city rivals Manchester United after signing a regional agreement with energy drink Extra Joss.

The deal will see the drink become the club’s exclusive Energy Drink Partner in Indonesia and in the Nigerian capital of Lagos.

As part of the partnership, City players David Silva, Sergio Agüero and Yaya Touré will feature in an Extra Joss commercial, set to air in Indonesia later this year.

Under the agreement, Extra Joss will be permitted to use City players and the club crest in advertising, packaging and point-of-sale across Indonesia and Lagos.

“We are delighted to add Extra Joss to our family of partners at a time when the club is rapidly expanding its global fan base,” said Tom Glick, Manchester City’s chief commercial and operations officer.

“We are looking forward to working with Extra Joss to generate even more excitement and to provide new opportunities for access and participation with City for fans.”

The agreement comes just one week after rivals Manchester United agreed a lucrative sponsorship deal for the naming rights to their training ground with US insurance firm Aon.
