The Madison Square Garden Company, the New York-based sports and entertainment firm that oversees the management of some of the US city’s leading sports franchises, has renewed its partnership with Major Energy.
As part of the new multi-year deal, the energy supply company will become the official gas and electricity partner of NBA basketball franchise the New York Knicks and NHL ice hockey side the New York Rangers.
Major Energy has also been named an official partner of the 18,200-capacity Madison Square Garden, the home arena of both the Knicks and the Rangers.
The firm will be given significant brand exposure at the arena for the two sides’ home games and will be advertised on the Knicks’ and the Rangers’ official websites.
In addition, ticket giveaways and special offers on energy rates will be introduced as part of the agreement.
“We broke marketing barriers in the retail energy space back in 2013 by partnering with Madison Square Garden and the New York Knicks, becoming one of the first energy companies to structure a deal of this nature and size,” Eliott Wolbrom, chief marketing officer of Major Energy, said.
“The Madison Square Garden Company and the New York Knicks and New York Rangers are hugely iconic and powerful national brands with tremendously large and passionate fan bases. We look forward to continuing to utilise our marketing partnership to bring the Major Energy brand and value proposition to those fan bases.”
The Knicks and Rangers are both owned and operated by MSG.
