US petrol provider Marathon Petroleum has extended its sponsorship deal with the Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) national college sports organisation.
The multi-year deal will run through to the end of the 2018 season.
Marathon Petroleum will continue to serve as title sponsor of the MAC American football championship game, an event it has supported for the past 13 years.
This year marks the 20th edition of the MAC Football Championship game, which will confirm the event as the second-longest running college American football championship game in the US.
The 2016 MAC Football Championship game takes place on December 2 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. The venue is also home to NFL American football franchise, the Detroit Lions.
