Isotonic drinks brand Lucozade Sport has signed a three-year extension to its partnership with the London Marathon.
Under the agreement, the company will remain the event’s official sports drink and sports performance product until 2019.
As part of the deal, Lucozade Sport, as well as the Lucozade Sport Lite and Lucozade Sport Elite products, will receive advertising exposure during the next three editions of the event.
“The event’s official sports drink has become an integral part of the race and the Lucozade Mile 23 drink station is a highlight of the day for runners,” Hugh Brasher, race director at the London Marathon, said.
Lucozade Sport’s renewal with the event takes the two parties’ partnership into a 17th year. This year’s London Marathon took place on April 24, while applications are now available for the 2017 edition.
The London Marathon is one of the six members of the World Marathon Majors elite group of road races.
