Italian sportswear manufacturer Lotto has agreed a deal to sponsor the inaugural edition of the Association of Tennis Professionals’ (ATP) Next Gen Finals.
The tournament, which will be contested by the top male players aged 21 and under, will take place at the Fiera Milano stadium in Milan, Italy from November 7-11.
Lotto will serve as a technical sponsor of the event until 2019. Lotto will provide clothing for technical staff during the tournament as part of the agreement.
Lotto president Andrea Tomat said, according to the sporteconomy.it website: “The deal with the Next Gen ATP Finals, besides making us proud to associate our name with such an innovative and prestigious event, once again demonstrates our commitment to supporting and investing in young athletes, focusing on their commitment and accompanying them with the best technological solutions along the road to success. This is the philosophy behind our constant presence on international tennis circuits.”
Andrey Rublev (pictured), Karen Khachanov, Denis Shapovalov, Jared Donaldson, Borna Coric, Hyeon Chung and Daniil Medvedev have all qualified for this year’s Next Gen Finals. The players will be joined by an Italian wildcard. Alexander Zverev had qualified as the highest ranked player aged 21 and under, but the German has withdrawn from the event to focus on the ATP Finals, the prestigious season-ending event on the men’s tour.
