The PGA Tour has reached an agreement for the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) to title sponsor a new event on its Web.com Tour.
The LECOM Health Challenge will debut at Peek’n Peak’s Upper Course in western New York on July 4-10, 2016, beginning a four-year sponsorship that runs until the 2019 edition.
A week-long schedule of events including a Wednesday pro-am tournament on July 6 will precede the main tournament, which boasts a prize fund of $600,000 (€544,000).
The Web.com Tour previously conducted tournaments at Peek’n Peak Resort from 2002 to 2007, with recently crowned Open Championship winner Zach Johnson among those to compete during his career on the PGA Tour’s feeder series.
