Korean facial masks and skincare products manufacturer Leaders Cosmetics has renewed and enhanced its partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
The new and expanded deal runs until 2020 and assigns Leaders the title of the LPGA’s official cosmetics partner.
A new Leaders Top 10 competition has also been launched, which will award $100,000 (€81,000) to the player with the most top-10 finishes during the 2018 LPGA Tour season.
Leaders first partnered with the LPGA in October 2016. Since then, it has sponsored the ‘Fresh Face on the LPGA’ rookie feature, which airs on pay-television broadcaster Golf Channel. Leaders will continue to support the feature in 2018 before turning mid-year to the standings update of the Leaders Top 10 leaderboard.
Leaders Cosmetics chief executive Kim Jin Gu said: “As the official cosmetics sponsor of the LPGA, Leaders Cosmetics’ professional UV skincare line ‘Sunbuddy’ is a perfect match for golfers who spend long hours outdoors. We are now planning to carry out our marketing partnership with Leaders Top 10.
“Sunbuddy received a huge response and starting this year, we plan to provide players with a variety of Leaders skincare products in addition to our UV products.”
The Leaders Top 10 competition, which began at the season-opening LPGA Classic on Paradise Island in the Bahamas in late January, will conclude at the November 7-10 Blue Bay LPGA in Hainan Island, China. A special presentation for the overall winner will then be made at the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship, to be played in Naples, Florida, from November 15-18.
