Le Coq Sportif nets Saint-Etienne, Fiorentina deals

French sportswear company Le Coq Sportif has agreed kit manufacturing deals with Italian Serie A football team Fiorentina and French Ligue 1 outfit Saint-Etienne.

Swiss newspaper Le Temps said both agreements will take effect from the 2015-16 football season, with terms of the deals not disclosed.

Le Coq Sportif previously provided kits to Saint-Eitenne when the team famously reached the 1976 European Cup final, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich at Glasgow’s Hampden Park – the final year of three consecutive Ligue 1 title triumphs for the club.

Le Temps said Le Coq Sportif has quadrupled its revenues over the past 10 years and halved its losses to CHF3.7m (€3.47m/$3.67m) in 2014.

Spanish manufacturer Joma currently supplies kits to Fiorentina, while Saint-Etienne’s is an Adidas partner.
